On the Boat Again at Last

Uh oh. . .

. . . now she's down.

and up again!

Yea - right up on his knees even!

Engulfed?  He made it through.

Larissa is happy when she's on top of the water but doesn't like the unknowns down under so swims fast when she is through on the kneeboard!

Sierra going up on the wakeboard - seems to come easy for her

There he goes again!  I wish I'd been shooting when he was holding on to each of their tubes and had one leg on each tube briefly - till they separated and he hit the water in between.
When Sierra's tube hit theirs, she took the brunt!

Luke switched back and forth between the tubes a LOT!
At this point you need to be hanging on tight!

Christiana and I took a turn cooling off on the tubes.

It looks like she's doing push-ups on the tube!

Ready and waiting

Hit it!

Sat. Night Worship & Games with Family & Friends

Christiana plays beautifully by ear and harmonizes so nicely.

Between all the recorder-type instruments Milt brought and Randy's guitar collection, we had a lot of music Sabbath evening.
Larissa is learning to play.

Something for everyone to play at our house!
First time for the Clubbs to play Pit - it was a HIT!

Looking for the bear?
Hmmmmm . . . look what Luke is holding onto.

Watch those spoons!  I've never been so consistent in a game as I was Sat. night - I went DOWN nearly every round for one reason or another, and never won that first hand!  And I was even keeping score.  How pathetic is that?

Grace AND Kelli Visit

Singing while she strummed

Kelli and Grace came to town from Colorado Springs for a long weekend.  They came over Fri. night for supper.  Grace will be 3 in November and what a sweet girl she is!

My Favorite Quilt Completed

The long arm quilter did the quilting - I love the pattern.  Hazel chose the backing material and she sewed together the multi-colored binding, that I sewed onto the quilt.

The finished quilt is about 60 x 70 inches. It will be in Hazel's front yard quilt sale on Sept. 11 along with those pictured below and more.

These are 12 of the more than 30 quilts that will be in the Sept. 11 quilt sale for the SONshine quilt ministry from the Collegedale Community Church.  I took pictures of them for Hazel to include in a flyer.  I made these collages and a few more in Picasa just for fun.  I made the cross quilt in the lower right of the above collage.

A REAL Boating Outing

Sunday we took a family boating who just moved here from Hawaii last week.  The girls who are Randy's students had never been on a lake before - just the ocean.  Larissa was worried about snakes.  Sequoia nuclear plant's cooling towers are spewing in the background, which is not common to see.
Christiana and Luke

She hadn't skied in 40 years but was willing to give it a whirl.
Sierra got up on skis for her first time.

Randy wakeboarded for his first time in two summers.
Air!
Larissa ready to give wakeboarding a try
Luke enjoying the kneeboard his own way
James rode it too
Sierra on the kneeboard
The tubes were the favorite
. . . in spite of the spills

When we left, the sky was looking rather ominous.  But we'd had about four hours of fun together.  I skied too for my second time this summer.
