Fish Tales and Songs Abound July 15-17

We got back from Beckley Fri. night in time to catch one song by the Fish family - I enjoy their harmonizing so much!  Sabbath morning we got to hear a couple more, with an even bigger choir.

Jo-Anne comes to town!

Saturday night in Chattanooga with Connie, Jo-Anne and Gaileen by the Walnut Street Bridge.  I can't believe I let Jo-Anne and Connie get away today after our lunch together and visit without taking her picture!  At least I got this one Sat. night when we went with Hunts and the girls to a concert.  We taught with Jo-Anne at Kingsway and she's been retired a year from teaching in Toronto and loves it!  It was so good to see her.

We went to the Gaither Band concert together at Memorial - what a great concert it was.  Bill is 80 now.

Beckley, WV - Pathway to Health Mega Clinic

We were blessed to be part of a huge team of 740 volunteers helping with this Mega Medical Clinic for 3 days. Services were totally free. Over 1700 were served. They performed 30 surgeries, gave 180 haircuts and more than 800 massages, saw more than 800 eye patients and treated hundreds of dental patients, according to Celeste Ryan Blyden, communications specialist for the event. - See more at: http://www.wvgazettemail.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article

This is the crew I worked with - doing data entry, scanning and filing. I really enjoyed conversations with them in between batches that came our way to input.  Some had worked at previous Pathways to Health around the country.

The room where we did data entry and scanning of the 1700+ patient's info.  My "boss" was Michelle, with the long hair.  She is from northern California.

Taken during set-up on Tues. evening, before the services began at 7 a.m. Wednesday, July 13.

The Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center is behind us.
Randy enjoyed getting to know Kester who he worked with in Exit Management at the clothing station.

70th Halvorsen Reunion

Sabbath morning at the Halvorsen Reunion - Shawn and Allison.  Shawn looks like the little boy on "Home Alone" I think.

Macaulay Culkin's twin?
Nap time?
What a nice surprise it was when Tom appeared on Sabbath with Dick and Terrie!

Ken drove out from Maine even!  John Roosenberg came for awhile Sabbath too.

Got it!
We all got t-shirts for our 50 year Halvorsen reunion - Randy keeps everything!

To Frankenmuth we Go!

It's fun going for our free birthday dinner with Anne and family and Grandpa to Zehnders in Frankenmuth. We weren't there to do it last July since our summer visit was in June.

Anne and Jessica have temporary guardianship of  2 yr. old Oliver - what a cutie!

He loved that orange sorbet and the animal toys stuck in the ice cream that were oh so fun to lick off after dipping them.

Jake didn't mind the ice cream either.

. . . or Dad!

The flowers are all red, white and blue around Frankenmuth.  Gorgeous.

It's fun walking across the covered bridge to the Inn.

The peacock really enjoyed Randy's visit it seemed, from the dialog they had.  ;)

The Bavarian Inn where Anne and her kids have stayed a few times.
