Fish Reunion Weekend
It was great, as always!

Ryan and Eric B. were partners in a doubles tennis tournament Sunday in Collegedale. How they played in that extreme heat and humidity is beyond me. I nearly croaked just taking pictures!

We drove through two mountain passes before arriving at Morraine Campground in Rocky Mtn. NP. The sky looked threatening once we arrived at the tundra area of the park. We wondered if we'd get our trailer unhooked and safely in the campground before a blizzard!
We drove over to the Sheep Lake area to watch for the big horn sheep to come down. We did spot them up on the rocks through the binoculars.
This little critter climbed right up on Randy's backpack
But we did NOT enjoy the hike to or from Bierstadt Lake. Mosquitoes and huge rocks/boulders infested the trail and made it seem a lot longer than they said it was - about 4 miles.

Sunday morning ready to leave the park and head back east. We ended up stopping sooner than we'd hoped the first night - in Siebold, CO. Then we headed out across I-70 on Monday and due to extreme temperatures, over 100 degrees, our van overheated so we stopped sooner than we'd planned. . .
Our last campground of the trip was in Topeka, KS. That left us one 15-hour day on home Tuesday, June 23. We got up at 4 a.m. to beat the heat and got a 4:25 a.m. start. It was already 88 degrees when we got to Kansas City at 7:15 a.m. We're already missing the dry, cool weather we enjoyed for the 3 weeks on this very memorable trip.

We stopped to see John on our way up to Rocky Mtn. National Park. We did laundry and shopped some at the outlets, played one round of Settlers our last morning there, and took in a ballgame in Denver Tues., June 16.
The Rockies had been on an 11 game winning streak, but we were NOT their good luck charm. We broke it for them I guess. But we were in good company so had fun. Kerrie brought a teacher friend along and met us there.
The pathetic ending score you can see on the scoreboard - 12 to 4. These fountains shoot up high when the Rockies get a home run - something we didn't get to witness. The Tampa Rays sure had plenty though so it wasn't a dull game. John told us the Rockies went on to win their next two games in the series.
Our shuttle bus driver in Zion told us we ought to take a rafting trip in Moab, so we took his suggestion and asked around the Moab rafting businesses if they had any trips through "sissy rapids." We found out the half day trips are their family trips and have less rigorous rapids.
We ended up with the company who has been in business longer than any other in Moab, the Tag Along Company. We had a great time Monday morning, June 15, from 9 to 1 on the river. We didn't take our camera for obvious reasons, but did snap a few afterwards out behind the store of the rafts, and out front by the sign.

The above fourpictures we took just before sunset on Sabbath, June 13, when we had our first look at the unique landscape of Arches National Park. It's just outside of Moab so a very populated and popular park.
Sand Dune Arch and the narrow trail to it that Randy is in.
