We had to eat at two tables and this table wouldn't hold all the food!

Love his PJ's!

Ryan took my new e-bike for a ride and agrees, it's really peppy.

Dollywood the Day Before Thanksgiving

We've never waited so long to get INTO the park, an omen of waits to come for rides.

Besides the flying elephants, this was the only ride I braved, four times even since it was no wait between rides.

A great picture of the sea of people up by the big coasters.  It was the last day of the year Bring a Friend Passes were useable.

The Wheels WERE Turning. . .

To replace the RadRovers or not - that is the question. . . After about 3,000 enjoyable miles on them in two years, my bike quit so I had no power to the bike for the last 9 days of biking we had planned on our October trip to the GAP and C&O trails.  We tried pedaling it one day without power, but 70 lbs. and 4 inch wide tires don't move easily so after each biking 6 miles on it, we gave up that idea.  We did enjoy 14 days of biking at least before it died.  He called and ordered a controller and harness, which they decided was the problem.

We know that the tires on both our bikes are due for replacement, and we could be facing more malfunctions like this with his bike.  So my wheeler-dealer husband's wheels started turning as he read about the clearance of this year's Rad 6.0 for an amazing price of $1300 each, instead of $2,000.  We finally decided we would upgrade, and sell our old ones, only to call and find out they were GONE, as in sold out, no more available. Bummer. He who hesitates LOSES. . .

So the wheels start turning again, in the direction of the fold-up Lectric bikes that Randy wanted to begin with.  We tried them out in a couple campgrounds, and talked to friends who have them and love them.  And so on Thursday, Nov. 3, Randy placed our order for their Lectric 3.0, giving us $280 worth of added appealing features at no extra charge, their Black Friday deal.  They were delivered to our house six days later!

Ready for our first spin

We biked locally just 6 miles and loved them.  They have more torque than the Rads do and I felt more in control when turning especially.

A couple days later, we took them to the River Walk and rode 24 miles down by the River and Aquarium.

(Randy installed the controller on my Rad, but it didn't solve the problem to his dismay.  So another call to Rad resulted in their diagnosing the real problem to be with the display unit.  So it came last week and when installed, hallelujah, it solved the problem!  Randy took it for a ride Friday and all is well, so it's ready to sell in the spring.)

On our third ride on Monday afternoon last week, I didn't get any pictures.  We went to the end of the Greenway and were headed back through SAU's campus on the Promenade when somehow I took a spill apparently.  I don't remember it at all - even though I was wearing my helmet.  The little marks on the helmet weren't there before so apparently my head hit the sidewalk.  So now I sport a sling over my right shoulder after an ER visit and x-rays revealed a separated right shoulder and hairline fracture of the right clavicle.  A C-Scan done Friday was reassuring that there are no serious abnormalities in spite of what you might think! I was told it's normal to have severe headaches after a concussion for a couple of weeks.

So I don't know how soon I'll get my wheels turning again (I see the ortho. doc tomorrow for follow-up), but if I ever get up the nerve to go from grass to sidewalk again, it will be VERY carefully. That's where I met my waterloo. I'm thinking the 20" wheel (compared to Rad's 24") turns or flips sideways QUICKLY if it comes up against something and will take some getting used to.

Claytor Lake, Smiths in Greeneville, and Dollywood, Oct. 30 - Nov. 6

The last week of our trip we spent camping at our favorite Claytor Lake State Park for 3 nights and then two days with Connie and Roger Smith in Greeneville, TN.  Then we were off to Pigeon Forge for two days to see Dollywood all dressed up for Christmas.

Our favorite site D-1 in the woods

That's WATER SKIING water!

The Claytor Lake Overlook

God blessed us with the most beautiful sunrise on our last morning at Claytor Lake.

The campground host let us ride his Lectric e-bike since we were thinking about getting them to replace our RadRovers.  We approved.

Connie's granddaughter at the Career Fair - notice she wants to follow in her mommy's footsteps.

Connie's tree decorated beautifully for fall

We made Play Nine converts out of them. They have their own game now and were playing it last night I heard.

Dudley Falls on Paint Creek is very close to their house

Grandpa Roger's handiwork

The smallest campsite of the 5 weeks at Walden's Creek in PF, but it served our needs of warmth and water for two nights.

We made the mistake of getting in line for the train ride since they advertised a new light field, pictured above this.  Take our word for it - it wasn't worth the 1.5 hour wait in line. . . the cinders from the coal engine coated us.  There are much more beautiful lights to be seen walking around the park.

They sound good still, and maybe even blend better, but I do miss Arthur Rice.

If you want to see more of the DW train ride especially, have a look at the 12-min. video on YouTube that includes the last two weeks of our trip, starting with Codorus SP, Raystown Lake Resort with our family, Claytor Lake, Smith's, and Dollywood.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7_0pL8qhIk
