Lovely Spring day for Painting

Randy got his new paint sprayer going today and painted the deck railing all the way around!
Boy does it look good!

He seemed to be having a blast, but tonight he's rather sore,
after going at the job about 10 hours!

Next Sunday comes power washing the floor of the deck and then rolling the gray deck paint on.

Last night and a week ago we enjoyed THE GAME -
Kwans enjoyed it with us last weekend and let me win! Last nite Kelli took the honors when Stephanie and Shawnda joined in the fun while the six of us battled for space to build. I've never been so boxed out of building before.

These are my favorite trees in bloom on our street now. Are they cherry blossoms?

My most colorful daffodil
Jim's Bradford pear trees are past their prime already and turning green

This is in the yard at the end of our street and is also past its prime.

Our forsythia are lit up now.

The phlox we were given from a neighbor last fall are smiling in our rock garden.

Redbuds in our back yard are very nice now.

Wild salvia in our yard. I hope they duck when the mower comes after them soon! They're "classier" than the other weeds in the yard that I hope will get cut off. We have quite a crop of wild onion going wild in our back yard.

Colorado Ski Trip

We left after school on Friday, Feb. 27, for Ryan and Carrie's.
We enjoyed a tasty waffle supper with them.

Sabbath afternoon we flew out from the Nashville airport. Randy's snow scooter is in the Mongoose bike box. It's a lot to lug around till we get it checked in. We shipped it home at the end of the trip via Fed Ex and saved a lot of lugging and some money too.

I had a window seat on our Southwest flight - what are the circle shapes about below?

We finally got to meet Kerrie, John's girlfriend.
She beat us at Settlers Saturday night on her first game.

It was mid-50's for our first 2 days of skiing. Randy shed his coat while we baked in the sun while eating our granola bar lunch at Copper on Sunday.

The cloud was so unique - looks like a big blimp in the sky!

John skied with us Mon. morning at Keystone.
We rented this little Rondo Kia from Enterprise in Denver.

The #45 sunscreen was needed every day we skied.

John led us around Keystone so we could ski all 3 areas - Mozart was even in good shape.

You can see Lake Dillon in the distance. Randy is scooting down School Marm,
one of the easiest and longest runs at Keystone, about 3.5 miles long.

We went siteseeing after two days on the slopes.

We ducked in and out of some of the Breckinridge shops.
I love the Images of Nature store especially.

We had lunch at one of John's favorite Mexican restaurants - Hacienda Real in Frisco.

Settlers fun ? Somebody has to win. . .

There she is - the Victor!

John's dog, Faith, getting some TLC.

Copper Mountain from I-70

Slush on Wednesday at Keystone.

John's pictures taken just before sundown at Keystone.

This shows how icey it was by the end of the day at the top at Keystone.

Our last day skiing Thursday at Copper was very windy and icy. SuperBee was closed, and everything over the back. It wasn't easy to keep Randy out on the slopes till 2:30 even.
He was ready to quit at lunch time.

We picked Ryan up at the Denver airport Fri. evening
and then enjoyed supper together at the Olive Garden. Carrie arrived Fri. afternoon on the bus from Highland, and they enjoyied the dump of new snow today - about 8 or 10 inches.
This is the Chapel at Copper Mtn. where we attended Sabbath morning. What a view!

Our flight home Sabbath afternoon was a little bumpy. It gave us opportunity to calm the girl down that I sat next to. She gave me a big thank you hug once our feet were back on good ole terre firma by the baggage claim. We got back home after midnight finally. The break went too fast. We both felt better than usual on our visit to the Silverthorne's Rocky Mtn. high altitude. Was it thanks to all the green smoothies? We think it was. We didn't have any while there, but are back to having one a day now back home.
