A Beary Fun Weekend in the Smokies

There is some color already, but not much.

We hiked to Laurel Falls on Sabbath morning.

This VERY large bear was right along the Motor Nature Trail east of Gatlinburg!  We were so glad we saw him and the other two from the VAN, not on foot.
It was cool enough Saturday night to enjoy a campfire, and the furnace in the trailer!

Dollywood is looking good with all the fall decorations out.

Dreamland Diner was fun to see - as always!

Connie, Randy and I decided these two are actually engaged.  They make a good lookin' couple and both sing very well.

Sunday Boating with Claire and Family

Heading out to go boating, but taking time to note the flowers along the way - that's my girl!

And I was skiing when this was going on!

"Mama - please don't!"  The water was cooler than Claire liked, thanks to our cool nights this past week.

Enjoying the butter and Grandpa's homemade bread
Piano playin' time after dinner
Claire liked snuggling up into the pillows on our bed
Claire was very busy picking up and putting down the kitty cards this weekend.

A Claire Sabbath - Sept. 15, 2012

Sabbath morning with Claire at Grandpa and Grandma's house - Life is INDEED very good!
How did that doggie get in your pocket, Claire?
Ready to go to Sabbath School with time to zoom some of Dad's old toys around the kitchen
And time to play the maracas even!
Sabbath afternoon with some of her daddy's old-time favorites
And here's my "old time favorite" guy, strumming away while Claire and all napped

I enjoyed putting the old wooden train tracks together for Claire's enjoyment after her nap.  She liked pulling the cars off the track more than pushing them around on it - some strong magnets at work here!

Dancin' with Daddy in her cute shorts from Auntie Jaclyn
The neighborhood canine friends came to see Claire (Maya and Nala, Jenna came too but she'd darted in our house momentarily!)
On the green way Sabbath evening
Munzee hunt with Carrie

Meeting the veteran in Collegedale's Veteran's Park
She played with this deck of cat cards a LOT this weekend, including Sat. night while we played Ticket to Ride

Our 37th Anniversary ~ with Claire

Friday we celebrated our 37th anniversary with dinner at the Acropolis.  Randy also brought me a lovely bouquet of flowers at school.

It was an extra treat having Claire and her folks arrive Friday evening later!

Claire enjoyed playing with the foam blocks I made for Ryan when he was her age.
She loved finding the sunglasses we got her on the coffee table and had us help her put them on right away.

She put them on herself upside down - hey, a new trend!
