Mom's 94th Birthday Celebration

Ten of us gathered round our Sabbath dinner table on Mom's 94th birthday to celebrate!  She chose the menu which included fettuccine alfredo (thank you Ruthie and Yvonne), corn pudding, cole slaw, home made bread (thank you Ruthie!), dinner rolls (thank you Yvonne), pumpkin bread, and Mom's grapefruit meringue pie.  Sorry, you didn't get any beets, Mom.

The birthday balloons - thanks to Gail n Yvonne!

Dinner guests included Denise Rodgers who Mom knew in Zephyrhills, Holly Ford Gadd, Karen Gimbel, Gail n Yvonne Fish, Ruthie, Milt and us.

Up for seconds, anybody?  We went through both grapefruit pies - no trouble!  I learned that my grandma Halvorsen actually made this recipe and shared it in a PMC cook book years ago.  I shared it on FB since so many asked this weekend.

Happy New Year!

Yummy tofu egg salad sandwiches that Susan made, chips n guac from Karen, Chex mix that Ruthie made, and lots of fruit cake, cookies, chocolate covered pretzels. . .

Passing the gift game (there were four boxes to unwrap with oven mitts on to get to the gift!)

Mexican Train along with Hand n Foot, Irrational Game, Catch Phrase, Pit and Ping Pong entertained us till midnight.

Randy with the Boomers that were lit to wake up the neighborhood after midnight.

Olie bolies (oil balls) that Mom made, from Uncle Henry's mom's recipe, Susie Roosenberg, a New Year's Eve tradition in the family.  I saw on FB that my cousin Tom made some and so did Kari on New Year's Eve.  Karen is about to chow down here  ;)

Kari's olie bolies looked yummy too!

Jessica's baby arrives on Dec. 30

Look who has a little brother.

Sweet - there's nothing like the feeling of holding your newborn baby.

Baby Z (Zachariah) was due on Jan. 11 but came early on Dec. 30.  He weighed in at 8 lbs. 7 oz. and was 21 inches.  Love that head of hair!  Still waiting for a nice family picture to share that includes his dad.

Jeff n Family Arrive on Dec. 28

We had pizza at Ruthie's Sat. night after Jeff arrived and lots of good visiting time.

The kids enjoyed Dos, that we got them for Christmas.
