Amy's Visit

It's nice to have Amy & Jeremy here for the weekend. They left MD about 1:45 Friday morning so had Friday afternoon here and today. They head back tomorrow on the 10-hour trip.

The other Jeremy joined us for dinner today too, and Stephanie who's here this weekend from Pisgah.

We had 9 at our dinner table (check Ryan's blog where he may post a picture of us at the table that he took) and then we enjoyed some "visitin" time together before Amy & the Jeremy's left to bike the River Walk. It was too hot for the rest of us - 96 predicted, and when they left at 3:30 it was a cool 90, plus humidity!

Jaclyn & Ryan didn't mind sharing a chair.

Stephanie & Ryan K. wanted to see Ryan's duplex so we all went over for show & tell. Ryan K. took a long look at Ryan's sports video/DVD collection and some predict he may be back to enjoy a few.
Ryan recently took some kids' books home that we gave him that brought back lots of memories this afternoon just leafing through them. We were remembering Ryan's rendition of "Shep" from Uncle Arthur's Best Stories when he was in Adventurer's Club in Oshawa. He had the whole story memorized!

Stephanie enjoyed the walk down memory lane too with Uncle Arthur.

Before retiring, Eric took a few family pictures for us.

And then one of just Ryan & Amy

Ryan's Place, Our Mess, & Our Visitors

Ryan's duplex is looking a little more settled now. He has his basketball net out in front now so is feeling rather at home there. It's so nice having him close by to drop in - just 3.4 miles away we measured today. Below is his second bedroom/computer room.

We're looking a lot more unsettled. More on that later - once it's all in the bag. But here's a picture of what I mean by "unsettled." That's the pool table piled deep!

Connie & Jo-Anne visited last weekend. That sure was fun.

Jaclyn joined us for Sabbath supper, and Carrie and Ryan.

Ryan's last move of the summer!

Ryan's move into his duplex in Apison started at 7:45 this morning. Randy and I headed to Chattanooga to pick up the truck. Ryan and Ethan and Jason headed to Cleveland to get the stuff down out of storage above Terrie's garage. After unloading at the duplex, we came home for a few more things and headed over to finish unloading after stopping by the dumpster with some stuff. What a good feeling! Do you notice anything missing from the apron part of our driveway?
I didn't get out the camera till after Jason left - but he helped 4 hours too. What hard workin' guys they all three were on this HOT summer day - it was at least 95 I'm sure.

The living room waiting for attention

He has such nice kitchen cupboards!

Ryan's spare 2nd bedroom - great for storage, and the computer.

Ryan's bedroom

It was all in by about 2. We left to return the truck
and go to CA's New Student/Parent Orientation.
Four hours later - we couldn't believe how much he'd unpacked already.
Notice there are rugs down and pictures on the wall even in his room!
We hauled off tons of empty boxes.

C'mon in and rest awhile! He's ready for you
and ready for a back rub too so I'll sign off and give him one!

A Tubing Day Mostly

Friday we left at noon after registration with Molly & Hannah and had lunch at home before heading out to the lake. They both took a turn at kneeboarding - and it was Molly's first time to try that (she got up on her first try with excellent coaching from Hannah). Then we pulled out Big Bertha - what a blast they had and then the two tubes too. Ryan came with his Sea Doo so they got to take a spin on it as well.

Hannah at the "wheel"

She even pulled off some 360's!

Are you sure it was your FIRST time kneeboarding!?!

Yes, the tube is actually called "Big Bertha"

Hang on!

Maybe two tubes will be better. . .

Or not. . . there goes Molly!

Ryan clears the wake and then some!

Look out Ryan, here she comes!

Her expression tells it all . . . Carrie is up to something - as always!
Too bad we had some clouds come up and we got chased in by a storm.
But it was great fun while it lasted!

At this point Carrie was still hanging on I bet.
Check Ryan's blog for some fun pictures of them this weekend.

We had the boat out again last night but the problem it's having with overheating is becoming more persistent. So we won't be taking it out until we get that problem fixed. And until the weather cools down it won't be fixed my mechanic has declared. It's too HOT to go out on the boat anyhow - as it was too HOT to go to the Chattanooga Lookouts ballgame tonight. It feels like Florida did back a couple weeks ago - ugh. Guess we might as well be working inside where it's cool this week. We are blessed!
