Bald Ridge Creek July 17 to 21

Enjoying cooling off in Lake Lanier at our favorite campground, in Cumming, GA just 2.5 hours away

Total relaxation

Yep, he let me win at my favorite game.  And even at Play Nine that we failed to get pictures of.

One quiet evening after sunset

We had our favorite site #45 again for our last two nights - and were so fortunate to be on it where there are NO trees.  The site ahead of us had two trees come down in the wild storm with 60 mph winds that rocked our RV and sheets of rain made it feel like we were in a car wash.

It could have been so much worse, but it jimmied their slides.

This tree put a hole in their roof.

This RV beside us lost their awning in the high winds.  Tornado sirens were going as the storm was raging - kind of late to take cover in the bathroom up the road.  These folks rode it out in their car. Our RV was rocking but fortunately didn't roll.

There were a lot of BIG pines that came down. Fortunately, nobody was hurt.

We were thankful for the volunteers who came Thurs. night with their chain saws to remove downed trees on the road in the campground. Otherwise, we couldn't have left Friday.

This was our campsite on Tues. night.  So glad we weren't there when that big tree came down two days later!

He was playing "A Shelter in the Time of Storm" during the storm - sitting in the driver's seat where he could watch it all, while I stayed away from windows in the bedroom in the back of the RV, praying.

Sunset after the wild storm that took down several trees on our loop at Bald Ridge Creek

The sunset glow after the storm Thurs.

Sunrise Fri. morning after the storm Thurs. night and more early Fri. morning between 4 and 5:30.
