Bikers/Hikers Only on the Cades Cove Loop on Wednesdays

We were fortunate that one campsite was available to reserve in Cades Cove's generator loop when we checked just a week before we went! We camped on May 23 and 24. We had to move from B34 to B2, but it's not too difficult, especially since there are no hook-ups, and we were level without levelers.   No vehicles are allowed on Wednesdays all day throughout May through September on the 11-mile loop road.  We were surprised at how many walkers were on the road.

Mom rode part way home in the co-captain's seat, but decided she likes the couch better behind the driver which is where she rode going over.

Breakfast clean up time

Blueberry pancakes two mornings in a row!

No, it's not a snake!

Can't camp without hot dogs and smores over the fire.

Randy is the best marshmallow roaster!  I torched mine. . .

We even ate supper outside Wed. evening.  The weather couldn't have been nicer - upper 70's for highs and 50's for lows.

Mama bear was foraging while her 3 tiny cubs were playing up in the tree.  Wish we'd gotten a picture of them.  Randy got a cute video clip of them coming down to her that's on FB.

This was the biggest bear we saw - Randy got a video of him pushing a tree over which is also on FB.

This scruffy guy was closest to the road - thus, the best picture.

Yep, the black spot is a bear out yonder

We headed out at 6:45 on our morning ride.  It was so peaceful without many bikers out yet, or bears unfortunately.  We only saw one, but on our 5 p.m. ride, we saw 10!!!

You can see why Cades Cove is my favorite place to e-bike. We're going again the end of September!

We had a sweet family across from us with 3 little kids who entertained Mom biking up and down the road, with their dad or mom right there too with their very obedient dog.

Woops - a finger in the way. . . sorry. We three enjoyed our little camping trip together.  The campground was so quiet even though it was full.
