Flynn Sitting and Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Fri. evening sunset on Wolftever Creek at Breetzke's - I love the glow on the water.

Our "charge" for three days

We watched some "how to stand-up paddle board" YouTube videos.  They said to kneel and paddle first.

Randy didn't get any pictures of my first effort to stand up - but you can see the result!

Nevertheless, away I went on my second attempt - oh boy, just in time for a boat's wake. . .

I managed to ride it out, upright!

This was my favorite position on the paddle board the first day I attempted it!  My legs were so shaky - it was exhausting.

Sharing pictures with friends/family with smart phones

Flynn loves it when waves come to shore - he barks and bites and barks some more, running back and forth.

Looks like he's trying out the paddle board next!

Monday morning there were no boats out messing up the water.  I really enjoyed paddle boarding on the glassy water, without shaky legs.

I was pleased to get up without falling in even!

I took a series of pictures as he got up his first time Monday morning.

Yep - he's almost there. . .

Bravo!  (I told him I was really disappointed not to get him splashing down  ;)

These two women paddled by Monday morning - dressed and dry, with a bag of some kind on the board, and the one looks like her dog is behind her on the board?!  Is it really?  Can you imagine!

Flynn watching Randy paddle back in

It was a nice feeling of accomplishment - and we figured out how to get on and off from the shore, just stepping onto the board from the steps, while holding onto the railing with both hands.

Renee's Visit on Holly's Wedding Weekend

Renee came for a few days (July 20-26) and we managed to drag her out on the boat for a ride Wednesday.  We took a picnic lunch too.  It had been a LONG time since she's been boating with us - maybe since Lake James?    She attended Holly's wedding Sat. night (I'm still looking for that picture that I took of all you girls headed for the wedding) and helped with her niece's care a few days before going home.  Come again - soon!

I found it!  Headed off to Holly O'Brien's wedding on Lookout Mountain Sabbath evening.  Lindsey stayed with us over the weekend and rode back with Carrie n Ryan.  Claire wrote down notes to fill me in on wedding details - precious!

We went for a walk on the Greenway and at Southern's Promenade during the wedding.  I love this three gen picture.

Claire n Easton's 9-Day Visit

at the Imagination Station one hot day

Cooling off in the shade - or trying to

We decided to visit the Collegedale public library to really cool off and checked out 10 books and 6 DVD's.  We only watched 1.5 of them with the kids but read a few of the books.

We got out on the boat twice while Ryan, Carrie and the kids visited, July 13-22.  I got in the water for the first time this summer on our first outing on Sunday, July 15.

Carrie's picture of my handsome grandson!

We couldn't believe how close this crazy boat driver came to us!

Our youngest boat captain at the wheel with Grandpa

Fri. night when they first arrived.  They are both cooperative for pictures now.

Time to cool off!

Wake skating

And another captain takes the wheel!

We tried to get Easton to ride alone in a tube, but he wouldn't have it

Our most recent family picture of them

ready to tube with Claire - we both like it nice n easy does it!

Oh Grandpa Randy. . .

Chillin' in the bow

We went out to eat a couple of times (Taco Bell after boating and Amigos on a rainy day between boating), went on a shopping marathon, and made a new food Bingo game that we played at home.  I wish I'd gotten the camera out more.  I can't get enough pictures of my grandkids.  They're growing up way too fast.

An outfit she loved from Laura Ferneyhough (had been her granddaughter's)

Feeding the ducks after eating at Amigos on Harrison Bay is traditional

Playing in the Kids 2 Kids store, where Carrie hit the jackpot and got lots of school clothes for Claire for about $20!
