Birthday Freebie Fun

Abuelos - Randy's free birthday meal back the very beginning of July.

My BD meal beginning at Abuelos.  It's our favorite Mexican restaurant in town. Love their green tomatillo salsa.

When we visit family in MI in July, we love our Frankenmuth trip to Zehnder's for our birthday dinners with Anne.

Yummy lettuce wraps at PF Chang's was a first birthday experience, the dessert was complimentary.

Can you guess which one we had?

We each had two layers, and brought the 5th and 6th layers home.

Love the Auntie Anne's free sweet almond pretzels

My actual birthday included Rafael's pizza and trifle - with Mom, Ruthie and Milton

Panera's free bakery item of course!
Others that I didn't take pictures of that we're either yet to enjoy or have already are Golden Corral, Red Robin, Fire House Subs, Olive Garden dessert, Cheddar's free dessert, First Watch, Moe's!
Sara Fish tipped me off about something she gets for free for her birthday each year - a little bundtlet cake.  So I signed up and picked mine up this morning - raspberry lemon.

July 25-29 Visit to Plymouth

Randy drove all the way to Plymouth on Tues., July 25, after having oral surgery the day before.  He cruised through it, as he did not do with the traffic that slowed us down in Cincinnati.

Wed. we went to meet up with Anne, Jake and Heather in Frankenmuth.

Randy getting ready to "talk" to the peacocks.

Our free birthday dinners were served to us this year in the bar at Zehnders.  And we had NO line to wait in!  The family style meal was tasty as always - especially their cole slaw.

It's always fun to see the beautiful flowers and Bavarian village.

Anne stayed at the Bavarian Inn and so we played putt putt with them there.

Thursday we went to Kalamazoo and visited with my cousins Dick and Terrie and other family members who shall remain un-named. We spent 6 hours trying to get there - thanks to an accident and construction hold-ups and power outages that made finding a bathroom a challenge. It only took 1.5 hours getting back to Plymouth fortunately.

Friday evening we celebrated Anne's July 25 birthday with Dad, Neil, Jake and us.

It was the end of a very memorable and very HOT few days without power from Wed. afternoon till we left Saturday morning. It finally came back on Sun. afternoon, 4 days later.

Bald Ridge Creek July 17 to 21

Enjoying cooling off in Lake Lanier at our favorite campground, in Cumming, GA just 2.5 hours away

Total relaxation

Yep, he let me win at my favorite game.  And even at Play Nine that we failed to get pictures of.

One quiet evening after sunset

We had our favorite site #45 again for our last two nights - and were so fortunate to be on it where there are NO trees.  The site ahead of us had two trees come down in the wild storm with 60 mph winds that rocked our RV and sheets of rain made it feel like we were in a car wash.

It could have been so much worse, but it jimmied their slides.

This tree put a hole in their roof.

This RV beside us lost their awning in the high winds.  Tornado sirens were going as the storm was raging - kind of late to take cover in the bathroom up the road.  These folks rode it out in their car. Our RV was rocking but fortunately didn't roll.

There were a lot of BIG pines that came down. Fortunately, nobody was hurt.

We were thankful for the volunteers who came Thurs. night with their chain saws to remove downed trees on the road in the campground. Otherwise, we couldn't have left Friday.

This was our campsite on Tues. night.  So glad we weren't there when that big tree came down two days later!

He was playing "A Shelter in the Time of Storm" during the storm - sitting in the driver's seat where he could watch it all, while I stayed away from windows in the bedroom in the back of the RV, praying.

Sunset after the wild storm that took down several trees on our loop at Bald Ridge Creek

Sunrise Fri. morning after the storm Thurs. night and more early Fri. morning between 4 and 5:30.
