Last Boating of the Season

This evening we took the boat out for the first time since Randy fell off the ladder back the beginning of August.  We went to Breetzke's place - and tied up to the moorings at their dock, and played Cardcasonne and enjoyed some Energy Bites.  Nice ending to the weekend.

They are having an addition built onto their house so the yard is torn up and footings are poured for a master en suite.

I love being out on the boat at this time of the evening.  It was our first and last time to this summer.  Next weekend we will winterize the boat since they are dropping the water level fast.  It's down a couple of feet already.  (We forgot our Canon so had to use my phone's camera instead.)

Time to Celebrate 40 Years of Marriage

This is a collage of various anniversary celebration outings during our 40 years of marriage that I put on the front or Randy's anniversary card.

Wedding pictures from that gorgeous September day back in 1975 in Berrien Springs.

We walked around Elkmont Sunday after a picnic at Metcalf Bottoms in Smoky Mtn. NP

We hiked the Gatlinburg trail where this bridge is

Newfound Gap

The Gatlinburg motel we stayed in Sunday night

Yep, we were both there!

Monday we enjoyed some of our favorite shows at Dollywood - the Kingdom Heirs we heard twice.

Waiting for the Gem Tones to arrive at Red's Diner

They made it and were a hoot, as the appearance of the guy on the right would suggest.

My People - Dolly's brother and sister, cousin, and two nieces are all down in front performing

Country Crossroads - the guy in the yellow shirt is from Cleveland, TN

Shopping Spree with Connie S.

Connie and Roger Smith came to visit us this weekend - it was fun trying out several new recipes on them, like the Spanish Rice on the table. Connie took this picture that I lifted from her FB page.  Unfortunately, we didn't get the camera out this weekend till she and I were heading out to shop Sunday.

Today she and I were out and about together, hitting the quilt sale first, then on to lots of other stops.  The most fun was at the Jack and Jill Consignment sale.  I can't wait to see Claire and Easton in their new threads!

The Oshkosh corduroy pants have red trains on them and Claire's scotty jumper is also corduroy.  Won't they be cute in these!

I love finding Gymboree and Children's Place second-hand stuff!

The striped fleece pull over jacket is by the Gap.  He doesn't like feet in sleepers so here are a couple of PJ's without the feet.

SONshine Quilters Front Yard Quilt Sale

Hazel Allen heads up the SONshine Quilt Ministrty that I help out with on Monday afternoon's, and today was the Front Yard Quilt sale.  Proceeds go back into the quilting ministry.  Most of the quilts we make are given to people who are sick or have lost a loved one or have been burned out, or for babies being dedicated, etc.

Barbara Cadavero recently made the baby quilt she is holding.

Hazel made this colorful baby quilt.

This queen size quilt has matching pillow shams and rugs.

The quilt I made this spring, my second.
.  The pattern is called Bold and Beautiful.  It measured 73.75 x 60 and Hazel priced it at $175.

Ruthie sewed this quilt top together partly before leaving on their recent trip to Cancun.  It's all flannel and so cozy.

I love the pansy flannel quilt backing.  If you want to buy a quilt, those that didn't sell are available still.  This one sold for $250.  They will be available at an October craft sale at Collegedale Community Church or you can call Hazel at  423-396-3816 to let her know which one you want so she can save it for you.
