Fall Break in MI

We got out of school on Wed., Oct. 15, at noon and headed to Michigan via Nashville and Southwest Airlines! What a way to go. Anne and her kids came over Thurs. evening to see us - of course, we played some Clue together. And we picked up Ryan at the Detroit airport Thurs. night (he's been a bachelor while Carrie is traveling with a group from Highland on their history trip to Boston, etc.). We flew since we were buying Grandpa's 2004 Chevy Express van and didn't want to drive two vehicles home.

No visit is complete without some pool for Ryan and Randy, Grandma and Grandpa.

Friday was golf day for the guys and Uncle Jim.

Colleen came by to visit Friday night for awhile.

The colors behind the Plymouth church were breathtaking.

And there's our "new" van with just 8800 miles on it. We figured it was about time to replace our '92 Chevy van with 155,000 miles on it. Gotta' have something to pull the boat to the lake with. We're too hooked on that to give it up, even though the kids aren't home. It's never hard to find people ready to accept our invitation to go out with us on the boat.

Saturday night we went to Three Cedars Farm where they have hay rides, a corn maize, cider and donut hut, country store, goats to feed, and you name it!

Did this ever feel real and white stuff even squirted out! Fortunately Bessie didn't kick though.

A dear on a Deere!

Engineer Jess is in 7th grade already

The cider was the best and the donuts, well they were tasty too.
Back home, Clue occupied some of us addicts.

On our way home Sunday, we got a tour of Ryan's school. It's nice to be able to picture him where he works now. It's a very nice facility and what a setting out in the country.

In his office next to the gym.
His gym where he enjoys teaching his Kindergarten thru 5th grade cherubs.

Fall Fun with Family & Friends!

Ryan & Carrie were home for the weekend so right after school Friday we headed to the lake. It was in the 80's and sunny - but the water was noticeably cooler than our last visit about a month ago. Some brave hearts took the plunge - and loved it!

Others loved it from the boat. . .

whatever floats y'er boat!

Randy shocked me when he took the plunge even.

Carrie was the only smart one who brought a sweatshirt for AFTER her turn.
Carrie & I shared the "doghouse" for capturing video and pictures of Grant's kneeboarding
performance! He's FEARLESS and what a hoot!

Ryan's silhouette as he took his last turn - of the season? He hopes not.

This morning Ryan and Carrie enjoyed some tennis with Andrew. I stayed home and made our Canadian Thanksgiving dinner that we enjoyed together with Stephanie before they left this evening. We wished Jaclyn coulda' been here too but she was working today.
