Deck Doin's

The deck job included these "weapons"

Power washing the little tiny front deck section was all he had to do to it.  The paint he put on it 3 years ago is in great shape.  We never walk on it and it's in the shade a lot.

I helped with the rolling on Father's Day - while he cut in.

Cutting in is so much easier than scraping paint off.  Since there were at least 3 coats of paint on the deck, it would not all come off with the stripper, power washing and putty knife efforts.

Big smile - there's light at the end of the tunnel!  It's so nice looking out on the finished job - at last.  Let the vacation begin, after another couple inside major jobs where it's so much cooler - today Randy is stretching the carpet in the family room.

Boating with Breetzke's

Brian , our captain, bringing up the anchor after our picnic supper on the Hiawasee Sabbath evening.
Lisa and Keith
Terrie brought some tasty fajitas made with quinoa and sauteed veggies.  I've gotta' try that sometime soon.
Randy got to relax and ride for a change on their boat, a Cobalt.
It was a beautiful sunset as we went back to the boat launch.

VBS Attracts 455 Kids this week

You didn't know I was a Flight Instructor?
The group of seventeen 6-7 yr. old kids I assisted with at VBS this week had 3 sets of twins in it.  I helped out the last 3 mornings of the 5 since they made a plea last Sabbath saying even if you couldn't help every day, they could use people.  There ended up being 120 adult helpers involved to pull it off.  We're usually not in town when it happens so I hadn't helped before.
The atrium in the church looked great - Sky was the theme.  "Everything is possible with God" Mark 10:27

The girl on the left was also an assistant in our group - she'll be a freshman this year and just moved here a week ago from MA she told me.  The little girl looking at the camera is the granddaughter of our former Spanish teacher, Mr. Delgado.  What a sweetie she was.  All 6 of the girls were great - the boys were mostly terrors!
Alecia (a senior this year at CA) was our group's leader and she kept track of who was there and when they were picked up at the end the parents had to sign them out on their card as well as show the card with their kid's name and number.
The puppet stories and songs were a favorite of the kids at the mission station.

Around Home Monday with Claire

Can't wait to go hiking now!

Claire loves phones!

I never thought a guitar was as big as this!

I need some slippers like this, Grandma.

This is the tub Dad had his baths in - I love pushing my stuff around in it.

Got music in my bones

Claire's First Majors Baseball Game: Jays vs. Braves

Sunday we went to Atlanta's Turner Field to watch the Braves lose to the Blue Jays, 12 to 4!

Hunts beat us there and Phil was glad for the blanket we brought from the van for the wet and windy weather.

We sat in the back row - notice the attendance!

Claire had room to roam on the walkway behind our back-row seats.

What a ham!

The good lookin' boys to my right!

Sabbath Picnic Time

Time for church, but pictures first!
