A Rainy Day at Dollywood with Easton & Claire

Monday, Dec. 29, was our third Christmas festival visit to Dollywood this year, and Easton's first visit.  We chose the wrong day to go weather-wise.  But we still had fun.  It resulted in Claire being happy to go to more shows with us.  She even led us into one outdoor theater as we walked by and went right up to the front row to sit to enjoy the Appalachian Christmas string music.  I wish I had a picture of her sitting there on the front row watching the 4 performers up close.
The forecast was way off, and we had drizzle or worse on us ALL afternoon at Dollywood.  Fortunately it wasn't terribly cold.  The hats were needed to keep the water off more than for warmth.  We left our camera in the car so these were all taken on Carrie's camera.  Thanks for sharing your great pictures again, Carrie.

Poor Easton had water dripping down on his face from Carrie's hood.

There was a cover over the kiddie rides that kept some of the water off.

The Smoky Mtn. Christmas show in this Showstreet Palace Theater just inside the front gate is my favorite Christmas program at Dollywood.  It held Easton and Claire's attention too all the way through.

Claire loves driving the antique cars.
It's so fun to walk out of a show after the sun has set and have the Christmas lights greet you - over 4 million of them.

Afterwards we stopped at Cici's for supper before the 2 1/2 hr. drive home.

Happy Day, Grandkids Arrive!

Happy Day - they flew in to Chattanooga Sun. morning, Dec. 28, at 8 a.m.

The bow boy - Claire was happy to oblige us by putting all the gift bows on his head.

Having a picnic with Grandma

Fun in the kitchen together

Cleaning the (fake) Nacho Cheese off - she loved it!

Easton loved this book.

Her choice of the Christmas cookie spread was the sugar cookies with icing and sprinkles.

Notice their stockings?

True love!

Karen came by for a visit.

Going to Calhoun soon and then on to Fords.

Ruthie & Milton met Easton outside and at a distance - the flu bug kept them away unfortunately.

A Green MI Christmas

Uncle Jim and Aunt Fran came over on Christmas Day to see us.  The lack of snow made getting around much easier at least, and our trip to and from Plymouth was on dry roads which we liked.

Gary's birthday was on Dec. 5 but Colleen brought the delicious chocolate cake for the celebration after Christmas dinner.

Kelly brought the red velvet cake to celebrate Terry's Dec. 22 birthday.  We included Jake, Heidi and Sarah with their November and January birthdays.

Yay!  We managed to include all the names in the birthday song!

Phillip's wife and 4 kids along with Gary, Lisa Ann, Kelly and Colleen.

Phillip with Vincent and Phillip Paul (who goes by Paulie) - they were one in September I think

We goofed and didn't take the family pictures before Phillip and his family left or he would be in this too.
