The Ark Encounter

The Ark Encounter opened in July of 2016.  I've wanted to go ever since!  This year I asked for it for my birthday, so it happened.  It's right off 75, at exit 154 near Williamstown, KY.  We took a shuttle bus from the ticketing area to the Ark, about a mile away.  It poured earlier that morning, and it was threatening rain when we arrived.  Our umbrellas were in tow and effectively kept the rain away from us.

It's 510 ft. long, 85 ft. wide, and 51 ft. high.  It has ground level, and 3 decks above.

Lots of cages and pots for water storage

There were a lot of signs on the walls like this one - referring to the state of our world and His soon return.

The storm clouds looked like another flood was on its way.  Sadly, many folks in KY have recently suffered through severe flooding and lost everything, with the death toll of 37 across five counties in eastern Kentucky just a week ago.
