We Biked the Entire VA Creeper Trail

Friday, May 7, Randy and I biked from Abingdon, VA north about 8 miles for our first time.  We loved the remote pastoral scenery.

There were several gates like this we had to go through - to check our speed?  We never saw any cattle roaming free so I wondered about the purpose.

An impressive bridge on the trail

Our tiny campground in Damascus where Ryan and Carrie joined us and stayed in a nice "guest room" on the creek.  We reserved here so we could bike to the trail and go north or south to take in the whole trail. Randy and I finished it going south out of Damascus for 8 miles and back Sunday after Ryan and family left.

Easton loved his new bike and tried it out before we hit the trail Sabbath

Thanks, Carrie, for this picture taken at the top before our trip down together.  Randy and I biked up the 17 miles on our e-bikes and met them after they drove up.

Lunch break on our way down

He loves Chex Mix!

Sabbath afternoon we enjoyed a new game "Portals and Prophets"

We walked to the Damascus city park Sabbath evening when Ryan biked up to get their car

Swinging with our grandkids

Our Sat. night game of choice!

We attempted to finish the game Sunday - too tired out Sat. night for all nine rounds

We 3 ladies went shopping Sunday to an outfitters store and didn't come home empty-handed. . . Don't ya love Claire's early birthday shirt and my Mother's Day matching shirt from the Creeper Trail! Sunday we had lunch together at Pizza Plus in Damascus, right on the Creeper Trail, before they left for home.
