Smokies with Ruthie & Milton

Last Fri. when we arrived in the Smokies we had a picnic in the Cades Cove picnic area and then drove the 11 mile loop.  We went into one little church along the way but since we didn't start it till about an hour before sundown, we didn't have time to check out any of the other buildings.  It was pretty dark when we came upon a bear chewing on nuts loudly at the base of a tree not far off the road, after waiting through a long traffic jam.  Before that we'd only seen the field full of horses, wild turkeys, and deer.

What a fun group to travel with.  None of us thought we'd feel too secure in this church up on blocks. Sabbath morning we went to church in Sevierville, and were surprised to see lots of former students and even some cousins from home there since our church's Children's Choir was having the entire church service.

We wandered through Dolly Parton's new DreamMore Resort Sabbath afternoon since it rained all day so hiking was ruled out.  This picture was taken in the lobby.

This picture shows what a "beautiful" day it was.

We drove through the National Park's Roaring Forks Motor Trail and enjoyed scenery like this all along the 5.5 miles.

Sunday was sunny and perfect for our day at Dollywood for the Fall Harvest Celebration.

Waiting for one of the Gospel Quartet shows to begin - the Kingdom Heirs I think, the first one we went to.

Gordon Mote has some very nice music and some we didn't care for.  He's an amazing musician.

This is Dolly's previous motor home.  We've toured through it a couple of times, but too long ago to remember details about the cost, and when she replaced it with her new one.  There's a lot of pink inside, including bathroom fixtures, leather furniture, marble, etc.
