Oh Zion! Wow!!!!

Zion was a great experience for us. These bighorn were right along the road on the east side of the park when we entered on Monday, June 8.

Notice the hanging gardens coming out of the cliff wall beside Randy on the Riverside Trail along the Virgin River

The Riverside Trail ends where the Narrows begins here. We didn't hike the Narrows (where you hike in the river against the current in very cold water) since it was too late the first night when we got there at just about sundown, and it was cold (60's) and rainy the second day. The weather was more conducive to a hike up the mountain, as you see in the pictures below. There was an elevation gain of about 1300 feet! What a view at the top.

Click on this picture to see the zig zag switchback path cut out of this rock wall that we hiked.

What a feeling of accomplishment it gave us looking down on where we'd come from!

This picture below shows Walter's Wiggles on the top part of the trail up to Angel's Landing.

We ended our hike at this sign after hiking up 2 miles to Scouts Landing. The next half a mile to Angel's Landing was too crazy - we enjoy life too much to risk slipping to our death on a narrow trail that has 1200 ft. drop offs on either side.

We biked 3.5 miles on the Pa'rus Trail along a creek.

We camped with HOOKUPS (what a treat!) in the Watchman Campground 2 nights
and I even got to spend some Internet time in the lodge there, catching up on e-mail.

The park scenery is beautiful everywhere you drive or ride the shuttle - note the RED roads.
