Third Port - Napier

On Sabbath, Feb. 1, we went to the NZ National Aquarium in Napier, the only port we didn't book an excursion in.

The kiwi bird enclosure - dark since they're nocturnal.  They were the reason we went to the aquarium.  And this is what we saw.  If you see a kiwi hiding in this picture, let me know! There were supposedly two in there.  (PC:  Don)

These little blue penguins were so cute!

We walked along the Marine Parade along the water front, through beautiful gardens.

Napier is an Art Deco town, the architecture style prominent in France in the 1930's, with lots of arches, columns and pastels, etc. There were a lot of vintage cars around town and folks dressed in that attire. They were happy to take you on a tour of the town, for a price!

I've never seen so many colors of alyssum!
