Camping Weekend with Heidi

Heidi drove to Pigeon Forge to meet us for a camping weekend a week ago. We had great weather.

Wild flowers along the Laurel Falls trail

Fall colors were starting to appear

We didn't take any pictures of our "picnic" because it was wicked cold and windy where we stopped to heat up our hot dogs and beans on the stone wall beside the pull-off. We ended up eating in the van even.

The hoar frost turned everything white at the highest points in the park. It was 29 degrees at Clingman's Dome.

This was the only view Heidi got of Clingman's Dome. We were hiking in a fog/cloud!

The evening shadows made these unusual patterns on the mountains on our way down from Clingman's Dome last Sabbath.
