A MD Weekend with Amy & Jeremy

We met Amy and Jeremy at the Shady Maple Smorgasbord in East Earl, PA
on Friday, June 10. What a smorgasbord - the biggest I've ever seen!

It was interesting seeing the Amish farms and methods of farming along the way in PA.

We followed them back to the Cox's house after dinner.

Sabbath afternoon visit to the barn and work building (below)

Randy checking out the cab of a truck Jerry recently added to his tree service business.

Sunday morning we went to Fair Hill for a walk with Amy, Chucky, Jeremy, and Artie.

The horses grazing after they were hosed down

Artie took Jeremy's visor off - so he put it up over Artie's eye/ear!

They have done a lot of work on their piece of land, planting flowers (including glads)
and other interesting "items" in their gardens. I love their swing!

Their mailbox and gate are already in place.

Amy stores her gardening tools in the outhouse ;)

They cut down over 70 trees to clear the spot where they'll build next year.
Now THAT'S a woodpile! A lot is split and stacked already behind what you see here.

The site of their house eventually

I loved the ferns in their woods where we hiked Sabbath afternoon. We didn't take our camera out on the kayaks Sabbath afternoon - wish we had some pictures of that enjoyable outing.

Sunday we enjoyed riding their 4-wheeler around their 7 acres and Jeremy's folks' 30 acres.
